The Parade - By Josephine (Age 10)

This following entry is from a guest writer, my daughter Josephine, and her experience on the 4th of July Parade:

The 4th of July parade took place right in the heart of Sanderson. It went straight across the bridge and past most of the motels in the small town.  I was on a trailer being pulled by a John Deere tractor with my friend Miles and a few other Sanderson citizens.

As I was sitting on a cooler throwing candy to the kids on the sides of the road, I got to experience the beautiful rolling hills of West Texas. There were all kinds of floats
in the rather large parade. Some were trucks decorated with red, white, and blue, others were small handmade strollers that people put there babies and tiny dogs in.  One of the floats was actually a go cart driven by children!

They also had dances, live music, and fireworks. The 4th of July is sure exiting to be a part of in Sanderson!
